One of my favorite things about working with badass business women, is that I know the cycle. Things are going great.. everything's flowing, you're making money, feeling like a boss bitch doing the damn thing. But you're busy and you're just one person. You can barely keep up with the influx and you're tired. Remember netflix? and forget about self care, there's a million things to do and a waiting list.
Eventually things start to slow down, and you finally have some time to kick back and relax, except you haven't had time to keep up with anything else. When is the last time you did any marketing and you haven't posted in days! So you half relax and half stare at your laptop screen making images and creating content until your headache finally calls it.
Except as you were furiously doing all the things, it seemed to get slower and now there's no money. Your whole body hurts but you can't buy a massage with hopes and dreams. Where are the people?
Then someone reaches out for an appointment. You were planning on going to yoga but that's the only time they're available. You really need the money.. so you take it.
The morning of, they cancel. You didn't collect a downpayment or have a credit card on file. It's too late to make yoga. You start wondering why you even do this.. maybe even start scrolling Indeed looking for jobs..
Except you just can't imagine working for someone else.
But you see, the difference between people who build empires and people who burn out is that people who build empires know how to set boundaries, put themselves first and make their business work for them, NOT the other way around.
And you can too.
